I have heard, 'I am bored', and 'I don't want to do that, that's boring', one too many times already this summer. So I went shopping at Michael's Craft Stores and bought some fun art projects for us to work with this summer to keep Mama happy and my two little girls.
First off we made foam bugs. My mother in law was over the day we did these, they are self adhesive and come with many pieces. Eyes, bodies, wings, pipe cleaners for antennae and you can even make them into finger puppets. Although they are self adhesive, it is not a strong glue, so we tried others and quickly realized we needed one stronger then Elmer's. I ended up digging out my hot glue gun which worked great! It took quite a bit of time, and we had fun. The house was pretty quite while we were concentrating, except for Charlotte who was busy pulling the eyes and dots off the the finished bugs. End result, see the picture below, not bad for a bunch of kids and amateurs.
